Online Event Registration - WWII PILOT TRAINING CAMP Sixty trainees came to Wendover, Utah on May 31st, 1944 from Harding Field Indoctrination Center, Louisiana. Another group of 60 trainees came from Harding Field on June 30th, 1944. When the training ended in September, 1944, the remaining aircraft and trainees were transferred to bases in the 72nd Fighter Wing.
Now, thanks to the Utah Wing of the Commemorative Air Force, you can follow in the footsteps of those 120 Trainees at WWII Pilot Training Camp! You will Train where they Trained, Eat where the Ate and Sleep where they Slept. You will fly in the PT-17 and AT-6 Trainers everyday while undergoing your training at the Historic Wendover Army Air Field.
